A real estate project in Shenyang, capital of northeast China's Liaoning Province, was engulfed in flames Saturday afternoon.
So far, nine people were killed and nine others were injured. Some of the victims are home buyers and sales assistants. The fire broke out at Wanda Plaza, a new project developed by Wanda Group, a private company that invests in real estate, hotels and department stores in many Chinese cities. An initial investigation showed the fire started with a short-circuit on the sand table.
